By using DEPARTMINT, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, and business details provided during registration.

Brand and content data: Brand name, niche, product images, videos, and brand guidelines you upload to our platform.

Social media tokens: OAuth access tokens for platforms you connect (Instagram, TikTok). These are stored encrypted and used solely to publish content on your behalf.

Performance data: Engagement metrics, posting performance, and analytics data fetched from connected platforms.

Usage data: How you interact with the DEPARTMINT dashboard, features used, and session timestamps.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the DEPARTMINT service, including AI content generation and automated publishing
• Connect to social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok) and publish content on your behalf
• Improve our AI models and content recommendations using aggregated, anonymised performance data
• Send account-related notifications, including billing and security alerts
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests
• Comply with legal obligations

4. TikTok Data Usage

When you connect your TikTok account to DEPARTMINT, we collect and use the following TikTok data:

• Display name: To identify your TikTok account within the DEPARTMINT dashboard
• Access token: Stored securely to authenticate video publishing requests on your behalf
• Open ID: TikTok's unique identifier for your account, used to link your TikTok and DEPARTMINT accounts

We do not access, store, or use your TikTok followers, DMs, likes, or any data beyond what is required for video publishing. TikTok data is used solely for the purpose of publishing your approved content to TikTok.

You may disconnect your TikTok account at any time from the DEPARTMINT dashboard. Upon disconnection, your TikTok access token is deleted from our systems. You can also revoke DEPARTMINT access directly from TikTok Settings → Security → Authorized Apps.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Social media platforms (Instagram/Meta, TikTok) when publishing content on your behalf
• Anthropic — AI content is generated via the Claude API. Prompts include your brand context but not personal user data
• Supabase — our database and storage provider, based in the EU/US with SOC 2 compliance
• Railway — our hosting infrastructure provider
• Stripe — payment processing (we do not store card details)
• Legal authorities — when required by law

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted database storage, HTTPS for all data transmission, and role-based access controls. Social media access tokens are stored using row-level security in our database and are never exposed in client-side code.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Published content records are kept for 12 months for analytics purposes. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Social media tokens are deleted immediately upon disconnection or account deletion.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict our processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

DEPARTMINT uses session cookies solely to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we only use strictly necessary cookies.

DEPARTMINT is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days in advance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
